Pipeline 2016

Witold Wendrowski and Michal Wendrowski have attended Pipelinetage 2016, the 11th edition of the annual utility conference for partners and customers of GEOMAGIC GmbH . The event took place at the Schlosshotel Blankenburg in Blankenburg, Germany. Cybersecurity sparked a lot of interest this year due to the requirements that result from the new German cybersecurity law (“IT-Sicherheitsgesetz ”). In 2015, Germany has passed legislation ordering that over 2,000 essential service providers implement new minimum information security standards or face penalties if they fail to do so within two years. Utility companies are part of Germany’s critical infrastructure, so they are affected in a major way.

Security measures like two-factor authentication (2FA) are Rublon 2FAespecially important in cloud environments. Michal Wendrowski held a presentation about two-factor authentication, where he spoke about the history and importance of 2FA in today’s digital world. He also showed the possibilities of Rublon 2FA, which is integrated with GeoNAM, GEOMAGIC’s asset management solution.

Our delegates had a great time during this year’s Pipelinetage conference and were happy to catch up with the Smallworld community.
