 GE's 2016 Americas Software Summit

We are thrilled to be part of GE's Americas Software Summit once again this year. The conference will be held on February 29 to March 4 in Orlando, Florida. Over 400 attendees are expected to join us. Michal Wendrowski, our Business Development Director, will be talking about "Practical Aspects of Implementing a Mobile Smallworld GIS Solution in the Enterprise". This presentation will showcase what we learned from implementing a tablet-based mobile Smallworld GIS solution at RWE. You will also find out about security aspects that need to taken care of. Our expertise in secure authentication will come into play here. We also have a surprise for you that we will reveal during the presentation, so make sure to be there!

“ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level” training for ASTEC staff

From 13 to 15 January the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) training took place in our headquarters. 13 ASTEC co-workers participated in this course which was conducted by AmberTeam Sp. z o.o. – an institution specialising i.a. in preparation to ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) exams. Passing ISTQB exam gives an opportunity to receive a tester certificate which is the most recognised within the IT community all over the world.

As a result of this training and related exam ASTEC staff has gained a group of certified Software Testers.


Seminary of PMI Lubuskie – “Stress management”

An efficient handling with stress situations is one of the most important skills not only of an effective Project Manager but also of each co-worker.

Having this in mind another PMI seminary took part on the 26th November in ASTEC conference room – this time the meeting was dedicated to various aspects of stress. The seminary was conducted by Adam Jeske – Business Coach who has among others reviewed causes of stress situations, as well as some relaxation skills.

Smallworld showcase in Cambridge

From 13 to 14 October our representatives: Alicja Jarnicka, Tomasz Łączkowski and Michał Wendrowski took part in Smallworld Solutions and Technology Showcase in Cambridge. This meeting was organised by our long-term partner – GE Energy. The goal of this showcase was to provide GE Energy’s partners and customers with information about development directions of Smallworld technology and related products. The event gave also an opportunity to make interesting conversations with our business partners.


Seminary of PMI Poland Chapter Lubuskie at ASTEC

On the 21st of October a seminary of PMI Poland Chapter Lubuskie took place in ASTEC conference room. PMI (Project Management Institute) is leading, international, non-profit organisation which consociates project management experts and enthusiasts. PMI deals with project management standards as well as with issuing of international competency certificates.

PMI PC Lubuskie was represented by Robert Wysocki, PhD – education and development division’s vice director and ASTEC by Michał Wendrowski who has welcomed the participants, introduced the company’s profile and achievements as well as took active part in the seminary.

Due to potential long-term cooperation between ASTEC and PMI Poland Chapter Lubuskie, ASTEC staff has guaranteed places during coming seminaries in ASTEC headquarters (previous registration required).
