Splot CAD

Splot CAD is the CAD system for graphic designing of textile patterns. In 1994 we started working on the Splot CAD program, which was the response to the needs of the textile industry on the program enabling visualization of textile patterns designing process. We cooperated with the woolen goods factory Lubtex and also with the Textile Faculty, Technical University of Lodz. Our cooperation resulted in extending the Splot CAD functionalities. On numerous occasions Splot CAD was presented during professional fairs, where it met with great interest. Splot CAD was an innovative program for textile design connected with the use of the state-of-the-art IT technologies. Splot CAD was one of the first Polish programs created in object technology. Thanks to applying the VisualWorks environment and Smalltalk language, Splot CAD was efficient and easy in use.

Rich experience gained during creation of Splot CAD as well as ability to cooperate with industry and scientific circle laid strong foundations for further development of ASTEC.
